How long is that snail? I have an excellent picture of a very long snail and if I can find it I'll email it to you. I say it's excellent, it's not as good as yours but it's excellent for one that I've taken.

Thanks, Mandy. It was tough to get a good photo (in focus) without laying flat on my belly, but I finally got just the right angle.
Candace, I didn't measure the snail, but this wasn't one of the biggest I've seen. Most of the ones I've seen are probably 2 or 3 inches.
Karen, I've seen the slugs, too. But fortunately the slugs aren't usually as big. I still remember this giant slug I saw in Chemnitz. I thought the thing was going to eat me for lunch!
Candace, here's a photo of the snail from above so you can see how long it is -- snail. I don't know if that helps since there's nothing there to use to judge scale.
