Finally fall

Yesterday was the first day of fall. And for Vienna, that means chestnuts roasting on an open flame. Well, not really an open flame. More like chestnuts roasting on a grate that's on a metal barrel that probably contains a flame. I don't know the specifics of how it works. But I do have a photo. It's from one of last year's Christmas markets.

See those two black barrel-thingies? That's where you'll find the chestnuts. And potato wedges. The potato wedges always look yummy, but I've never tried them. I did try the chestnuts last year and I wasn't a big fan. They're ok, just not something I would seek out or crave or whatever. But they do smell tasty, so I like having the stands around.
