Your opinion matters

First, some blog news. This is my 100th post. I feel like I should do something to celebrate. So I offer you this lovely shot of the sunset one day last week -- or maybe the week before last. Recently, in any event.

Now, on to other things.

A while back I mentioned that I had signed up for a coaster swap. I've been checking out some of the other coaster-makers and they're pretty impressive. So, of course, I'd like to do something impressive as well.

This what I'm working with right now.

The front side reminds me of cathedral window quilts, so I thought -- quilted coaster! Now here's the dilemma. Maybe you noticed that I've done a little quilting on this coaster already. Maybe you haven't -- it's a little hard to see in the photo. But I'm not sure that I like the design. Here's the front with some lines drawn on it so you can see the design.

The lines are kind of wonky. I think my sewing is a little straighter and more even. In most places. So my question -- should I keep this design? Or should I go with something more like this to highlight the cathedral window aspect?

Or should I just quilt them like Martha?

So many possibilities. I'd love to hear your opinion.

I thought I was the only one who says "wonky"! I like how you have it so far!

Martha is an amazing lady, but I would stick with what you have. It's pretty nice.

I like them both, but I think the second one is my favorite.

I, also, say wonky! My favorite permutation of it is Wonk-Eyed. (For when someone has a go-funny eye.)

You're already on your 100th post? It took me at least a year and a half to get to my 100th! I think I'm only to about 125ish and I've been blogging since March 2006! Good job!

Just wanted to give you the spy report - Emmy really did sport those cute shoes you made. She was quite the hit at church yesterday. :)

Thanks for voicing your opinion! I sewed the other three coasters only to realize that one of them was sewn incorrectly (the fabric on the back was inside out) and all three were slightly larger than the original because I used a smaller seam allowance. So, after much debate, I decided to cut fabric for two more rather than ripping the stitching on the messed up one and having one that's slightly a different size. I'll post a photo -- with a slightly different design than the ones I've already showed you -- when they're all completed. I hope the anticipation isn't more than you can take!

Lisa, thanks for the update. Amber said she would let me know when they arrived, but I haven't heard from her yet. I guess she's pretty busy.
