BEWARE of the laughing rats

Do you want to see something scary? Take a gander at the sign that greets you as you enter the park near our apartment.

That is one sneaky looking rat! A bit obese, as well. (Really, can something be "a bit" obese?) The sign says something like: "He who feeds the pigeons -- feeds the rats!" Fortunately, we've never run into a rat. But every time I hear something rustling around in the dark when we take Sharkdog out after dark, I imagine this rat. That's one of the reasons I don't like to wander around outside after dark. (That, and the risk of stepping in dog poop.)

That rat it EVIL!

If there are sneaky, obese rats lurking behind the bushes and concrete ping pong tables, maybe I've changed my mind about coming to visit!

I have checked around many trees and scurried around several dumpsters. Still, I have found no rats despite the fact that no one seems to give the sign's warning any mind. I think it's because I eat so much of the food that is thrown out in the park.

I'm still enjoying getting to see and hear about your adventures. I've been really busy this week teaching VBS every night. Tonight is the last night. Hooray! Please get rid of all the rats before we visit....

Not only does the rat look like he's EVIL, but he looks like he's an EVIL genius. But no worries, folks! This sign is near the apartment where we are currently staying, not the apartment we are moving into permanently. So all visits are secure.
